Synopsis

Set high in the Peruvian Andes, this inspiring documentary follows Eduardo Gold Araoz, inventor and founder of Glaciares Peru, as he tackles glacier melt with an unexpected solution: painting mountains white.

Filmed on the Chalón Sombrero glacier at 4,900 metres, the film explores Gold’s innovative method -based on thermodynamic principles- to reflect sunlight, lower surface temperatures, and encourage the reformation of ice. His approach shifts the focus from carbon emissions to the direct impact of solar radiation.

Creative, bold, and deeply rooted in care for the planet, Gold’s work offers a striking example of local innovation in the face of global climate change.
