Synopsis

The short film, ‘The suffocated voices of the Mantiqueira streams,’ by filmmaker Wilson Fábio Godofredo (Brazil), is a call to action.

Considered the eighth most important ecosystem in the world, the streams of the Mantiqueira Mountains in southeastern Brazil are contaminated by rural sewage that threatens both the purity of the waters and the environmental balance of the greater region. The first-place film raises awareness about the need to protect these springs and streams, which quietly sustain the lives of people and species.

The short film, ‘The suffocated voices of the Mantiqueira streams’, won first place in the 2024 Latin American Prize for Short Films About Water & Science, organized by Let’s Talk About Water and Mayors Make Movies.
